Shouldn't earning XP be more balanced out?
The easiest way to earn lots of XP is by badges, but if you've got most of them, you can almost only earn XP by challenges. But this system makes it so that people with great codes, who don't challenge much, will only get so little XP, while people who don't code themselves get loads. I know this app isn't all about XP, but I also know 99% of you are still interested in earning it. I think there should be more XP for likes on a code or on answers in Q&A. What do you think?

fully support the idea of more XP for code likes. Currently that is the only area in which you don't get much for your efforts... In Q&A there is "best answer" - I think that should be enough. Challenges are already the only sure way to get XP without anyone having to mark you or like you, but the system is a bit unfair - mostly in the part where you don't get anything if a challenge is not answered...
However, before increasing the XP gain for codes, they have to do something about plagiarism 😉

@Maart
Best answer is 15XP + 1XP for every upvote.
Challenge is 30XP for an extremely short time I get 1XP for win -32XP for loss.

@Msaligs https://www.sololearn.com/faq
there is a short explanation and a link to Wikipedia that explains the system in more detail.

To be honest Maart I have not posted any codes yet. Also I'm kind of new to procedural coding.
Surely posting codes should be the ultimate goal and should carry more xp's.

I wanted this idea to applied from a long time , as people like me who code not play much challenge's don't get enough XP .
Coders are highly underrated in Xp's and badges , I mean for the biggest coding badge - Senior Developer only 50 likes that's pathetic most people easily get that , it should be more like 500 or 1000 .
I think for every like 1xp would be great , it isn't that huge also , its perfect .

Till now i am unable to understand the logic of XP distribution
While challenging a low level, on winning got 1 to 5 xp but ON losing losS about 20 to 30 XP.
while challenging shows the XP somebits higher but on winning gain less than half.

2XP = 1like

@Utkarsh how many codes have 500 or 1000 likes???
how many of them are NOT web codes???

yes, people give likes but what code has bigger chance:
attractive web code or
console code with almost non existing visual part?
html&css&js game vs c/c++/c#/java... console app.
what code will win???

True, though plagiarized codes don't get too many likes and they lose their XP with their account anyways, I don't think it'll cause much more of a problem than it currently is.
And best answer is great, but it isn't used often and you earn 10 XP with one answer marked as best, while winning one challenge can get you 30. So yeah, the codes definitely earn more, but Q&A should too (even if it's just a bit)

Fair enough (though I'm pretty sure it's 10XP + 1 a like, but that doesn't matter now 😜). I would love to see the XP for codes implemented though!

I think challenges are really good. They sharpen up your skills and me you think and try to understand what is really happening with the codes. I don't think about XP's . I am only interested in learning how to code ,win or lose. I have lost many more than i've won but since I have been accepting challenges my understanding and my confidence has improved a lot.

There's a big difference between challenges and real codes though. I love the fact that codes depend on creativity as well as coding skill.
Apart from that, I was actually trying to keep the 'Pfft, I don't care about XP anyways!' argument out of this... If you really don't care about XP, then you don't care about keeping it the same or changing it up either.

Right now you can earn XP only by those badges though, whether you make web codes or not. But shouldn't this app be about writing codes yourself too? What you're saying is true, web codes do get more likes, but how would you fix this? In my opinion, a partly fair system is better than a really not fair system.

@Illusive Man 50 is okay, it should be there but What I want to say is that the biggest coding badge with just 50L is not good . There should be more badges atleast the biggest should be 500 or it should be increased .
Only web codes gets more likes is not a valid reason , its people who decide to give likes.

Its pathetic, i risk losing 29 xp for earning 3 xp. Trying to earn xp with challenges is really painful.
