What importance in Java that Google adopted it to develop Android .Can anyone tell me .

I m learning java but don't know the top most features provided by it

write once run anywhere. this made the original Android team to build the dalvik interpreter. also, Java has had a massive developer base, perhaps the biggest.

this meant Android can appeal to the largest dev base and impose minimal learning on the devs to onboard them to Android world. bear in mind, iPhone was massive when Android came out.

these were for all I can see, the reasons Android went Java way.

then later on, Google came along and acquired Android.
