I agree with @Maz but I wish they would let the programmer know without exploiting the problems. I guess this is just me hoping people would do the right thing and I know that doesn't always happen.

@Gonzalez you're completely wrong.
What @Ram 91 and you don't understand it's that criminals use theirs security flaws to destroy, to steal and do many bad things so ethical hackers have to find their weaknesses before criminals to help developers and people to increase their security.

To teach someone a lesson if doesn't care about security.

Me: "You should really set a stronger password."

He/She/It: "Who wants to hack me anyway? They don't care what I do online!"

Few days later: *gets hacked by some random dude*
"OMG I GOT HACKED! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? WHY HAVEN'T YOU WARNED ME ABOUT IT?"

Me: "I really don'k know."

If someone doesn't know security the hackers will teach them a lesson. They will never chose a weak password again.
