Asked 999 times, the answer is C++. Nearly all engines are C++. Python plays a strong role in scripting in many games with some engines supporting it. Next up is Java and Kotlin in mobile dev mainly [citation needed]. Finally is C# with only one AAA engine supporting it, Unity. On the other sidr we've got web dev and those web devs can tell you more than me. Basically you're writing mainly games to run in browsers. Funky. In other words almost any language. In fact use QBASIC if you have an MSDOS emulator lying around. Protip: You may as well go in the deep end now as you'll probably find a need to know some C++/C eventually if you're serious.
