Can you use comments to form a source code database?
The old source code revision software RCS used a serial number, which it would append to the source code in a comment at bottom of the file to track the changes to the file and who made them. The perl documenter could convert your comments in your source and reformat them into a man-page. So could you take the comments you leave in your source code, following a specified format, to create a database of how the software works, and maybe a to-do list of fixes and development?
