If you're planning on being a front-end developer be sure to look over some common design patterns and know how to create one. There's a difference between knowing the syntax and actually knowing how to apply the skills to a project. Just something I needed to put out there.
In theory, if you have the skill set then you could. You should build a portfolio site showing off your work or an open GitHub repository. The whole idea is to sell yourself to your employer. Also, if you want to have the upper edge look into what's in demand when it comes down to frontend frameworks. The frontend is moving rapidly and you have to keep up with it. If you plan on competing.

I'm honestly surprised web development seems to be a pretty big topic still. I thought it was going out of style when my mom used to do it back when i was in elementary school. almost 30 now though. Honestly I don't have experience in doing this stuff yet, but I say you shouldn't worry too much about the price tag. you can mostly find that info on google anyway. You should focus more on learning and polishing what you can do as well as determining if it's something you find is worth it. Some people get into a field they aren't going to like for the money and in the end sometimes the money doesn't seem worth it to some. knew a guy trying to get into game development despite never playing a game in his life and thinking they were a complete waste of time, he wanted the cash. not sure if he ever got it.

You can do a good Google query to find the ranges but if you enjoy what you do then you'll be fine more than likely.
