Challenges are poorly structured these days :(
how is it that when I win someone on the same level as me I get between 5-8XP but when I lose I lose between 28-32XP is that even reasonable?!

Win XP = (32 - Lose XP) + Answer Bonus
wherein XP gain/loss depends on your XP ratio against your opponent (Not level difference, although higher level players often have higher XP in certain weapons). The higher the gradient, the less XP you gain upon winning.

Ya young lads see Nikolay up there? He climbs 1 step each session and gets kicked down 31 if he falls. I don't see him complaining, that's the great spirit. :>

It is done so that higher-level and experienced players would not misuse their standing by challenging lower level users for easy xp.
Works just fine, for me.
