Does anyone else here have experience with Linux/knoppix and is it something to keep using for further learning?

C/C++ and Knoppix is what my introduction to programming class started me out with. I have to say, I like Knoppix as an OS, and I like the overall environment. Currently, I'm having 0 issues with it, other than I'd like have it save files to my "live" USB, or maybe just have windows and Knoppix as a choice at the boot screen. I'm sure I'll find out how when I get a chance, but for now, I'm pretty excited about it, I'm curious if anyone else loves knoppix or Linux kernel in general.

I personally only use linux. Haven't touched Windows in years. My distro of choice is parrot as it has tools for just about anything I need included, and it looks nice. Linux seems to me a better development environment than Windows overall. Less background processes, more control of.. well, everything. Plus 99% of linux distros come preloaded with g++ so no need to go looking for a c++ compiler :) . Easy to make shell scripts to do whatever you want too. I'll never go back. Never heard of knoppix though I'll have to look into that one.
