Hi, I need help understanding exponents...I just can't get it...thanks

Is 4^2
Which is the same as:
4 * 4
= 16.

2 is basically how many times I multiply 4 by itself.
So, 4**5 Is:
4 * 4 * 4 * 4 * 4. Or, 4^5
Which is a pretty big number.
This is something you will surely learn in mathematics sometime.
