Is JavaScript knowledge necessary for JQuery?

Hey Solo folk, Is an intimate practical knowledge of JS required to learn and use JQuery? Would an appreciation and overview be enough do you think? Intend to use skills learned for primariliy Google Tag Manager. Thanks, Tony

not really. but it helps, because jQuery is written in JS. also Lots of jQuery functions are very slow on comparison to vanilla js. so, sometimes it's well adviced to write certain functions in plain old is than using jQuery

jquery is like the spiderman suit. you could swing your web even if you don't wear it if you are the real spiderman. but you wear the suit, i mean where's the fun with a superhero without a suit. :) all the best.
