Eclipse is ok, but I prefer IntelliJ IDEA. Which if you're planning on learning Android programming will familiarize you a bit with Android Studio, the IDE used to build android applications. Android Studio is built upon IntelliJ IDEA by Jetbrains.

I highly recommends NetBeans for you. It got everything you need for Java. And has good support for other languages too. Look at this:. If you wanna go to war with pistol, u need to go along with a machine gun. But if you wanna go to war with a machine gun, pistol is not needed. Pistol will be an option. Here i mean to say, when you choose to go with IntelliJ or Eclipse, you NEED to take NetBeans along but when you choose to go with NetBeans, then those two will be an option.
