Where to from here?
I have been going through a book called beginning c++ through game programming. I have almost completed the book and though I am having a difficult time with the last few chapters I still feel like I have no clue what I am doing. I understand that I cant go from no experience to coding a game in the few weeks I have been reading this book but I don't even know where to begin? Yes I can make a simple EXE file that is a "game" but by no stretch of the imagination is this anywhere near a real game? Can someone give me advice on "where to go from here." There doesn't seem to be a c++ through game programming part 2.

It just sounds like you have gone through the entire book without actually exploring to the max extend of what you can do with simple structures. The key is to familiarise yourself with the coding experience. This is done through practice.

Ok well, i advise you to stay on the things you've learned and continue to experiment with those then when you get bored passes quietly to a next level

I'm nowhere. I understand functions and references pointers stuff like that. classes make sense but classes within classes confuse me. honestly I think I'm about to give up. I don't think this is something I can teach myself without having a professor to answer my questions

the books I have bought start simple and within one chapter become so overwhelming that I feel like I know nothing again.

I guess my issue is I don't know what to do with what I have learned. I don't know enough to really make anything so I can't practice anything
