You don't usually get the practice that you would when learning on your own. It's a good start but you'll need to finish what you know someplace else.

The main disadvantage & advantage at the same time is that it's very addictive mainly because of the chellenges as competitive element:-))))) As a result time losses:-)

I guess not having face to face time with an instructor?? but I tried learning Java with a face to face instructor in the past when I was younger and kept falling asleep in his class because he had a boring voice and a generally dry and unlikeable personality. the rate at which I am learning with sololearn has been very fast however, and largely because the person is removed from the material. it means not only that I can learn at my own pace, but it also means that there isn't someone there to turn what is fairly interesting material into a bore and a chore, and being in a social community of coders that are also learning gives the app experience the feel of a classroom while learning different lessons. finally, the gamification of the entire learning experience (through short quizzes, challenges, achievements, levels, and xp) makes learning these different topics and makes me excited to learn more and keep up with the app. at this point, I can't find any major negatives, maybe aside from it being addicting!
