It's not offensive, just weird? lol I guess we don't have enough programmers in America; we don't have such stereotypes here. Maybe if you asked if any of us sits in a dark dungeon programming all night; I do sometimes. lol

i code and i have a girlfriend and 2 kids a house over my head and a nice car. being single has nothing to do with coding its how you balance your life. if you code all day without socializing with friends then you might have a problem. i like to prioritise my life and coding is always below family and friends. if you have no choice for example your studing computer science then you have to balance all as an equal and be more proactive with your time.
