Is Java good In web applications?

Hi Guys , I'm learning java for last two months .I want to Know more about java and web applications . As a career in web application is it okay to learn java or I hv to learn more languages .Suggest your opinion guys.

I think that for Web development or design you must know advance html css and javascript or jquery to make your code smaller but for the development of apps required a lot of java . so there is no relation between Web development or design and app development .
