Which laptop to buy?

Hello guys! First of all, my English is not great so hopefully you will understand me. Soon I am going to be in university studying programming and I need decent laptop. I don't care much about games and I can go for a MacBook but they are not so cheap and that is why I need your help. What kind of specs I need? Do size matter (13, 15 or 17 inch) especially for programming? Also my budget is around 1500€. Can you give me opinions on what should and what should not to look for at this price range.

i would suggest that screen size will be important as you will be looking at it lots. smaller screen can be harder to see things on

Still, if its too small you will struggle to read all day from it ☺ I wouldnt run that kinda resolution. Even on my desktop i only run 1080p

If you really only want to code I suggest you to buy a rather small one you can take everywhere with you. Just to gain flexibility. I would say that for your purposes a small one could be enough. With about 200€ you should get something perfect for coding. I wouldnt say that you really need a big and expensive Laptop unless you have to code huuuuuuuge programms, which most small ones can also handle. Your decision should depend on that a little bit, however you have to remember that more expencive wont always mean better for your purpose. And still you will need a good one ;P but 500€ - 1000€ will be more that enough ;P I guess!

+Apoorva Shenoy Nayak Dell XPS is insanely beautiful in my opinion but the 15 inch model is expensive for an 1050 gpu and i5 cpu. The 13 inch model's gpu is really weak. Asus ROG might be the laptop for me because it has really good specs for reasonable price. The only downside is that it's a bit ugly and screams gaming laptop but I guess I can't want more for this price

Screensize is important, dont take anything smaller then 15.6". Also if you are not gamer take something with internal graphics card, you dont need graphic card to drain your battery, and i would suggest you to try and find something with ssd memory rather than hdd. But even hdd is fine. this is recommendations for students.

+Jay hey but imagine you have 15 or 17 inch 4k display.. this would be still hard to see because of the scaling

Buy a laptop with a large 17" screen because the IDEs like Eclipse or Android Studio are using many different windows, which are open at the same time. For compiling you need a fast CPU or you read a book while the computer is doing his job.

+Rolf Alright in conclusion, I need 15 inch thin ( to carry around ) laptop with fast cpu and ram. Keyboard and screen should also be decent in my opinion and of course I can go with smaller screen. The only thing I don't know is what GPU I need?

For 17' inch laptop, The best premium laptop would be Hp Envy 17 Check it here -http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-envy---17-ae051nr It has a 4K display, a dedicated graphic card nvidia 940mx 4GB and its in your price range and has the latest core i7 processor For 13' laptop would be, The Envy 13. This is probably the best looking laptop ever and its only $949 check it here: http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-envy-laptop---13t-touch-1gv79av-1 its touch screen, has the best audio, 8GB integrated graphics, the best design in a laptop latest core i7 processor and much more.
