that is a good question, and it really depends on what you wish to do. the more programming languages you learn the better you come to understand the pros and cons for each language and there is not a one size fits all language. if you wish to learn object oriented programming and get an understanding of data structures java is a good one to pick up. also since the jvm allows the user to run code virtually anywhere it makes it popular. however, this also causes java to be slow. Although c++ has its upside over java, I.e it is faster, better at analysis and number crunching then java, the downside it is harder to learn, and takes a bit of setup to get it to run. As stated above, if you want to design websites then html, css and JavaScript is what you would learn. Html to create content, css to control the look and feel of your website, and JavaScript to control behavior. if you want to work on server side of things then you would use a language like php or ruby or .net. Also an important feature when creating large programs is to have a database to store all of your data, then Sql language would come into play here. then you have languages like python that are considered in essence a scripting language, a script language which are essentially designed to handle tasks very quickly and help to automate the process flow.although with increased complexity, scripting languages have evolved to use object oriented programming designs

If you're a starter in programming I recommend HTML and CSS, and after that JavaScript. If you have discovered the way of JavaScript you can easily start discovering languages like Java, C# and PHP because they're all, just like JavaScript, C-based

obviously python is much better than any other programming language because it requires less time nd python code is made in much lesser time.it doesn't need to initiate a program all over again if a new program have to be made.Instead we can start from where we had stopped any other program
