Yes, you can Write FrontEnd Games on the browser Like Travian, but the BackEnd is PHP or another BackEnd language Like Python.

Yes you can, and Node.js can be used for backend I guess.

if you use unity as a development tool, you can write your scripts in JavaScript or C#. Unity is a free software development engine.

you can write simple games running on browser but if want save score for next visit them you need some thing extra

yeah you can write a javascript program in a text editor like notepad and save it as an html then open it in your browser. but usually you can only make very simple games that way and you also usually have to use a canvas by integrating it into the html part of the program, which you'll have to look up because it's hard to explain here.
