Do you have to be very good at math to be good at programming? Or are other skills more important?

I'm curious about your opinion.

problem solving skills are important. coding will improve your math skills naturally as you will be using it alot. so don't be too worried. i suuuuuck at math but am getting better everyday

math isn't necessarily important, you will probably use math specifically just for more complex languages but even then it shouldn't be an obstacle! you improve much more every day, and you can be an excellent programmer and be not all that great at math at the same time. my personal skill would be a good sense of logic ^_^

only some very basic skills are necessary like fundamentals in arithmetic. But how the others just have said, it's a learn by doing thing.

would agree to amarie. but for various tasks like cryptography and ai programming an advanced math class helps you out quite some times
