What should I learn in my very first year in Computer Science and Engineering?

In my university, they teach Java. But I know a very little about this.

They'll probably go over the basics since it's first year. Stuff this course teaches, maybe with more detail. So learn what the course offers.

Yeah you don't really need to kearn anything, they'll go over all the basics like the course on here does. You'll be fine. The best thing you can do is be really prepared with regards to note taking and also have an eagerness and enthusiasm to learn. Also be prepared back home e.g. Make sure you have an IDE to code in on your computer so you can try out at home what you have learnt in class to help reinforce what you have learnt. It's important you practice in your own time if you want to do really well.
