Knowing C will help those who need to code for less advanced systems (read: less RAM and/or storage capacity).

EDIT: The very advanced type would need this over C++ if C++ offers tasks deemed unsatisfactory for the extra OOP included. I assume some parts of Linux are C due to being slightly less bloated than C++ on speed.
