Start Html and Css courses, then next JavaScript course: + <canvas> is an Html element, so you need at least basics of Html to integrate it inside a document, and Css is required beside Html to design/style your page layout... + using <canvas> require use of JS, and need a few more than just basics... Anyway, you can quick focus on JS course, if you doesn't want particular layout for it (and learn some Html/Css in a second part), but understanding of JS course will be better if you understand Html/Css concepts ;) However, if your purpose is to make graphics with code, there are also other ways than in web documents... but web context is easier to handle if you're complete beginer in code (else, you may be advice to master an aleady known language ;P)
