XP for code up-votes?

I read a few times in discussions that XP can be gained by getting up-votes for codes - but to me this appears to be wrong.
Is it?

And is there some kind of reference or table where I can see which actions gives wich XP points?

To word it properly, code upvoting leads to unlocking code-related badges which are still tied to specific languages (meaning you can earn the same badge more than once), and hence the XP.
