What am I able to use my old tech for?

Everyone has an old mobile phone / tablet / laptop that is out of date and isn't used anymore. Has anyone got any good ideas for what they could be used for other than gathering dust?

I am going to load a Linux distro on my old phone and see what fun I can have with that

I like to control my smartphone with script programs. Many cool things can be made with the sensors. Only imagination is needed.
