What project should be listed in your CV for your first job at an IT company

I'm learning Python and I want to know what projects I should do and listed in my CV for the first job in IT programming. This is the list I found on github: https://github.com/karan/projects

Anything impressive. Show your proudest works, taking effort and time to build. Don't have something note-worthy to show? Make it now! Ideas such as a name catalogue or mix-match are ideal for a medium task. If you need challenge, think of your own. They're bound to be better than mine.

A Hash Creator or Lexical Analyser are good starts. But don't feel tempted to rush to anything you might not be able to complete. The ones shown there, I'd have some trouble working. Not to discriminate against your ability, but try some easier projects that lay out the foundations of "those ones" before moving on. And as a "must have"? (I'd work on a local weather retriever program first. :) ) Well... sure, I guess. If they are included in the general scope of that language. Python, as I know, is used for Backend Computing, Mathematics, Rocket Guidance Programs, Cryptography, etcetera. Go for the ones you that you know fit your preference and or ability. :)
