đ Sharing information vs Copyright laws?
I enjoy helping communities and people that wish to learn new things. I have several textbooks and ebooks with very useful information in them that would benefit the majority of Sololearners. If I were to share articles and information from those sources, and give credit to the authors of them in the process, would it still be considered illegal? I'm not as informed about copyright laws as much as I believe I should be, so I'm asking ahead of time, just in case. Thanks.

Depends on the country I believe. If it is not the entire book and only excerpts one could cite fair use.

but if in doubt I would shoot an email to the publisher to question it. That said code samples for books are generally publicly available on websites soo it maybe a grey area if it is just the code you are going to reproduce.

I don't think so. You gave the author the credit. IMO it isn't illegal.

This isn't really an answer but I notice on Google Books, huge amounts of current books are available to the public https://books.google.ca/books?id=4yXtDAAAQBAJ&source=gbs_similarbooks just tap on the book image.

i think the best thing you should do is contacting the publisher .
