there's probably a restriction for legal reasons, like the possibility of coming across adult language(?).
there are some younger coders on here though, like Lunar and Artemis who are below 13. (btw lunar is an amazing coder, he is gonna be a master when he's older)

COPPA still applies as the app tracks location, ip address, device info, your name and other things.

The more I read into this thread, the more I affirm the age restriction.

i found this article which may explain why.
btw Sololearn are not saying you have to be 13+ to code. It states you must be 13 or over to use the service.
edit: it is probably point 1 more than anything else

@Joshua
whatever your beliefs are on kids, there are set laws regarding them and this rule is almost certainly in place to protect Sololearn legally. don't like it? email Sololearn, or change USA law

@Joshua
I don't think you do understand my argument, I said nothing about bullying. If you wanna go that route though, I'm a mod, and I've seen by bullying on this site.

@Joshua
Sololearn has a lot of social media elements... It's not a strict course with no communication. if you're really that concerned, get in contact with Sololearns legal team

I agree ... . For instance i'm only fourteen but i love coding and this is actually nonsence.(you can create another optional google account with giving your age in registration more than 14 or you can change from settings in your account if possible đđđ)
But i see you have already been registered.

@Joshua, calm down,why make such a big deal of this? I mean, you are here, learning, coding, asking & replying questions, and your account is verified.
Through your posts I don't see you have any problem, nobody ever talked to you mentioning you're too young or anything, nobody bothered you for the age issue, so why make this such a problem, or maybe I'm missing something?

@Ahri Fox I know plenty of 8 year olds who know those things and arent afraid to say them, so why 13 and not 8?
+ 2
and if it were that then put a filter on it. dont just restrict them and assume all 13 year olds are mature
+ 2
@jay You do know what the articles title is, right. SOCIAL MEDIA restrictions are what its talking about, not an educational website
+ 2
Listen Ahri, I understand your point. But cyberbullies arent gonna come to a computer programming website to bully people if your gonna have an argument understand the opposing argument too.

If just don't get it, an if I don't get it I will speak out against it
+ 1
why though, why track those things

I get your argument but I don't think that leaving things as it is is correct. It may not be a big issue, but its an issue nontheless
