WordPress & WooCommerce or Asp.net & nopcommerce?
I have a prototype store in WP. PHP, html5, and Js cover most functionality. However, asp.net core scaffolding & mvc setup could be better longterm for my services driven web application/store/blog. I want my Web app to work with the database and also control other apps. I'm mostly interested in people's experience with building an Ecom platform using asp.net core, c#, and nopcommerce.

I worked in asp.net mvc and nop commerce. Its a solid framework to build e-commerce applications. The nop commerce developer community is also very helpful. I think as per your requirement nop commerce will be better. But asp.net has steep learning curve as you have learn c#, asp.net and nop commerce to make a well programmed application. If you already have some knowledge of these then go for it.
