what is the alternative for using a max function? I do not want to use it and I need to find the largest number of user input

Doing it yourself
Let's say user inputs are in a list named l :

maxi = None
if len(l):
maxi = l[0]
for i in range(1,len(l)):
if l[i] > maxi:
maxi = l[i]
