Is it necessary to learn c to learn c++?

No its not at all necessary. But you will surely have an upper hand on c++ if you are familiar with C because most of the concepts of C++ are derived as well as based on C. Actually C++ is nothing but an advanced upgrade of C language which eliminates the limitations of C.

You need not learn separately at first c and then c++. Because C++ includes a C as its base, so when you will learn good C++, you known good C too. It dependes of course (or learning book), some of them teach only C++ advantage elements - it may looks simple in examples. And others learn a C elements of this language too, it's maybe harder. But this is a base of C/C++, which ask IT employers...
