As a beginner, should I learn C or Python as my first programming language?

Python is way easier to learn but if you want to go into the basics, maybe C. Python has lots of inbuilt functions, e.g., sorting, which you would have to code yourself in C. Hence Python is easier but C goes into the depth. :)
