how to start fix and modify a Linux system ?

Building and modifiying Linux Kernel.
what is the way ?
I learned most programming languages .
C , C++ ,java ,python ....
and had a good experience .
and I 'm 16 years old . but I want a more to learn .

2 years in java and c++ .
and 1 python . and 2 year on Linux system (ubuntu)

It's a good thing that you are immensed in things like those, but under the term 'experience' I really meant work experience, hence why I am skeptical
Anyways, most of the OSs are built in C++ and takes a lot of time just familiarizing with the current system.
