Should Microsoft to thank for hacking the Windows?

I was thinking about, what would happened if another part of the world haven't hacked Windows every time? For example, I believe the whole east part of the world(Russian countries, China and India) would use Linux only. And for now probably it would be something like that: Windows 40% Mac OS 10% Linux 50% And for now we would have completely developed choice of programs for Linux, and not for Windows (especially games market). And gradually everybody would switch to Linux and forget about Windows.

Do you mean: What would the world be like if the rest of the world hadn't cracked Microsoft's Product Keys? Like how China has been mostly* pirated copies of Windows XP (like, forever) -- and only ~ recently wrote their own operating system? *edit: I remember reports of high piracy; 'mostly' may be too strong.

Unfortunately Windows doesn't often make security a top priority unless it's a major major and publicly known vulnerability. They have certainly stepped it up since Windows 8 though, things like patch guard help protect the kernel from root kits

"Copying until you get it" is one way to learn, and from construction to technology (even wind turbine generator code) there's been a lot of practice / copying / imitation... if the news has it right :) I've read the reason for "everybody out by 2020" was for security concerns. "The Great Firewall of China" as their massive Internet filter has been called, seems to fit this idea. New programming languages (written in Mandarin instead of English) may pose interesting challenges / opportunities for the rest of us.

Windows 10 has about 300 vulnerabilities for fetching data from HDD. You're welcome.

@Bayram Ismail In this app, lessons about languages are just introducing. This is more like first step in right direction. On your place I would not only complete most of the courses, but also challenge a lot ( 1000 challenges in each language, after each challenge you can see the right answers). Make your own projects, JavaScript game, web pages, algorithms(you can find them on another apps). Just get used to all those languages, until you feel they are all the same. Achieve results, make your own website with your works/portfolio. Push your work on github. You can find me and/or discuss about it on Discard app, sololearn channel.

Kris Schafer - exactly. That was what I meant. cracking Windows is a progress for Windows anyway. Not cracking - looking for alternative and finding Linux (what is good for Linux ofcourse). Why they wrote own OS? Why don't use Linux?

Well, you see, most of PC users nowadays don't want to think while using the PC. Since the very beginning, the Windows tries to outsmart the user, and often it succeeds, so it is easier to people to 'crack' an OS and use it, than compile the kernel and its modules.

So, it is easier to crack than to adopt to another OS... And not the last role plays game compatibility probably â˜ș thank you for your answers, nice discussion!

@Kirk Schafer That is interesting links, I have read all of them. So basically China made own Linux version of Windows XP like OS. Made also Microsoft Office like equivalent for it too. End they successfully transfer users to it.
