(2 * n * n - n + 1) is the series generator.
n = 1 => 2 - 1 + 1 = 2
n = 2 => 8 - 2 + 1 = 7
n = 3 => 18 - 3 + 1 = 16 and so on.

when i=1: a=1+0+1»2
when i=2: a=4+2+1»7
when i=3: a=9+6+1»17
