<head> tag

can some give a break down of stuff that is needed in the head tag, looked at a few sites coding and there is a lot more then just title tag and a bit of styling

well ofcourse. there is something called meta tag. it has various attributes. all it does is give information about the website. this information is not part of presentation or styling, but is used by scripting language like JavaScript.
