For developing android apps is better c# with Xamarin or java with android studio?

Every option here should fine. So I would recommend to use whatever you are best/comfortable in.

C# is the sweetest language for mobile development if you use it with Xamarin. Just give a look at Xamarin's site or any MSDN/Channel9 keynote about it. Check the features >> http://xamarin.com/platform And don't go by other user's comments when they say you shouldn't use Visual Studio for your C#.NET development coz they are most like Java-etc fanboys/MS-haters. You'll love Xamarin for VisualStudio.

The nice thing about Xamarin is that you can code both Android and iOS apps, all in C#. Java only covers Android development, while Objective C and Swift cover iOS.

i prefer using java with android studio.. i the nativeness in it and am more comfortable with java
