Is this only happening to me or is there really a limit on how many times you can challenge someone??

If you challenge someone too frequently, you'll meet something called a challenge limit, which means that until a certain time, you cannot challenge that player anymore.
All you can really do is to wait until the challenge limit expires and you can send challenges again. 😉

I believe there is also a limit of initiating 20 challenges per hour or something like that. I seem to hit that from time to time.
