Javascript is not thesame as Java although the former borrowed some part of its design structure from the later. Javascript Is an ecma Standard made simply for client side web scripting whereas Java is an object oriented language designed for handling lots of programmatic based scenarios not just for web only. Javascript is even lightweight (so that it can be easily ran quickly on a web page) compared to Java... and they are not thesame.

If i remeber correctly JavaScript was first named Mocha, then it was changed to LiveScript. When LiveScript was released Java was really hot and trending. Therefore LiveScript changed named to JavaScript for marketing reasons. This has lead to some big confusion. They are two completly diffrent programming languages.
