Any suggestions on the bare minimum I would need for a Mcbook to start app development for an okay price?

Well, I'm not an Apple user at all, so I don't develop for them or use their products at all. However, if you're publishing to the their app store, you're probably right about that. As such, maybe a Macbook is a better investment for you. Unfortunately, I don't have much information on them to readily recommend one of their products, but most development needs don't require too much, so even one of their lower end machines should do the trick for you unless your app is graphically intense. Hopefully one of the Mac users in our community will pop up and give you better advice than I can on their products. Either way, best of luck to you!

An okay price? I don't think that exists in the Apple world. You'll always be paying for their name. For the same price you can obtain an intel machine that's superior in every way, and then just run the Mac OS from a VM.

Thanks! But if I wanted to publish my app on the AppStore, wouldn’t a VM be illegal?@Netkos Ent
