Freelance or hired?

Will coding freelance as a contractor be better for a beginner than trying to get hired by companies / start ups?

As a beginner i would try to get hired by a company that involves you in a beginner-friendly environment. In your spare time you can use the gained knowledge for selling your own apps on the app store or similar stuff. If after a certain period of time you feel save and have potential clients you can try starting your own business.
