@ICE I disagree with you. You never have to be an expert before you start up a project or something. Getting involved in practical stuffs helps everyone a great deal.

My first program was a "Russian roulette" sort of game. Two people would enter their names and would spin a gun then both of them had 1/7 chance to die, you kept spinning until one "shot" himself and lost. It wasn't perfect, for example everytime you spin the "ammo" got reset instead of making the chane higher 1/6,1/5 etc. But I was so happy to complete it.

How about a Portfolio site or a to do list. Or redo a web app or website you think needs updating. Thats what I did.

Apart from the obvious 'Hello World', calculator and guessing game my first real code project was a snake game called Bibio. Check it out on Kongregate, can only play on a pc.

My first program was the classic guess 1-10 game. It's a pretty easy start, but it requires the random module.

My first program was a C program to find any terms of arithmetic and quadratic sequence by providing *any* 3 consecutive terms in that pattern...

First my program was symbol that moving on the screen in all direction by arrowkeys. I remember that I have many difficulties when it approach to screen side... some errors or etc don't remember exactly. But Im thinking - wow it's Cool !!!
