difference with the input element

I saw a element with a <input type=""> and <input id=""> I know that id is for the css to make a the website look beautiful. just wondering what is the difference with the being said element. thank you for advance. sorry for my noob questions.

no id is not necessarily for styling elements rather we make them mainly for calling in JavaScript or link or uniquely yes we use in CSS too. but class is preferred. the type in input we find are to tell which type of input it is check box radio buttons textarea password colorpickerbox datechooserinput
