Well, I am programming in Ruby, and there is a lot of job opportunites. Of course, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript are more popular, but there is higher concurency also!

C#, Java & Python (in alphabetically order) are supposed to be the 3 major programming languages.

But there is always need for developers who knows other languages, like Ruby, Java(Type)Script...

And keep in mind that Ruby on Rails is a very powerful Back-End solution.
