The first computer programmer was a woman! Her name is Ada Lovelace, dating back to 1843 :)

Women made great coders way before men did. In the beginnings of computer technology, hardware was thought to be a man thing whereas software development was mostly a woman activity. I think it's a great thing to have women in the coding/programming industry. I can't speak from experience, but I'd imagine that it's rather nice to have girls in the workplace.
