Do we need to have the knowledge of any other coding language before learning java??

No, you can start with Java. Get a a book that is an introduction to programming using Java. There are plenty of free ebooks out there. Don't worry too much about choosing the right language. Choose a language that interests you.

No prerequisites for learning a programming language. It does help knowing another language before hand. It helps you in grasping syntax and concepts faster. However, if you want to really learn something, you will learn it. Many of those who started with Java said it's easy. I didn't start with Java
