Java, C and Javascript are the most preferred languages but I think all of them are great in there own way.

It depends on what you are trying to achieve. HTML and CSS are good for formal informational sites, while JavaScript is great for more interactive coding creations. Nevertheless, you need almost all of them :)

Infact that depends upon kind of aim for which it is meant for i.e for web development one can choose between php,jsp,html,css etc.Mostly it depends upon final aim.
And for competitive programming Python is mostly selected.✌
