CSS is a style sheet language... JavaScript is a programming language... They can't even be compared on equal terms...

There are things you can do with css that you can't do with javascript and things you can do with javascript that you can't do with css. As Hatsy stated, they are not comparable. However, they work beautifully when used together. Neither is better than the other ☺
