Why did you choose that profession ?

The story of how someone landed in a particular profession opens the door to learning a lot about a person and their motivation, interest, education and ambition. we spend most of our days working, so the answer to this question also reveals how a person choose to define their lives .

Many times people have their professions choose them. Bills need to be paid. You apply to hundreds of places. You get a job offer. You accept it. Why? See line 2. I see it a lot of the times. There are people who pursue their interest but that tends to go with people who already have money, like they come from $$. So for them working is really a hobby. They could not care less about the money. What a person is interested in may not be something the person can earn a living with. Think starving artist. Art is beautiful. But buyers pay peanuts for no name artist. It is still talent and hard work! Having interest is important. Burn out occurs more often for people who really are not into their line of work. However burn out can occur from other ways too. Like having a toxic boss or work environment. It is my understanding that many doctors and lawyers go into that profession for the money. They may not like the work or responsibilities. The pay check is the reason. Or you could be lucky. You love your job. You are really good at it. Etc. Your found your calling and the door did open!
