it depends on your activity and your customer.

it's more about what you can do with that language. a very good and creative web developer might earn more than an average c++ programmer.

You can earn a lot programming in Java, Python or R if you work with Data Science. The most valuable skill is to understand your customer, uderstand the problems they have and solve them. It sounds silly or very basic but few programmers/analysts are really able to do that. Be warned that you never will stop learning. I'm working with IT for 20 years and I'm constantly studying something new.
