R or python

I know it is an old one, but what would you learn R or python for machine learning? I am learning R since a year now and have the feeling that I waste my time and should switch to python. What is your opinion? My goal is to develop machine learning applications for the healthcare sector.

I think it's worth a try. Maybe Python will be more suitable for you. As for me, if I had to choose a language, I would try both and then choose the one that is more convenient for me, because in any case, both languages are suitable for these purposes😊

I think I will spend another year with R to get more experience. And in the mean time I will try to grasp the math and statistics concepts behind ML. Thank you all for the great response
